Carrum Downs Junior Football Club

Carrum Downs Junior Football Club (CDJFC) is a family orientated volunteer based club, specifically devoted to the support of a healthy recreational option for the children of Carrum Downs and Skye.

Originating as Kananook JFC in 1967 in the Frankston & District Junior Football League, to which we are still affiliated, based at Kananook Reserve where the league headquarters are currently situated. We became Kananook/Carrum Downs JFC in 1987 and moved to our present location at the “Wedge Rd Recreation Reserve” in Carrum Downs in 1995. The Kananook was dropped from our trading name in 2002.

2004 saw our first premiership as Carrum Downs JFC, to complement the many as Kananook and Kananook/Carrum Downs, when one of our Under 12 teams completed an entire season undefeated!

We invited the five local schools, Carrum Downs Secondary College, as well as Carrum Downs, Skye, Rowellyn Park and St Joachims Primary Schools to participate in a Sports Scholarship program in 2005 with Seaford Park joining the program in 2006. Wanting to give back to the community we invited each of the schools to select a student, in either year 6 or 7 depending on the school, deserving recognition for their sporting achievements and the way in which they conducted themselves in doing this. The scholarship was for an amount of $100, plus if the student decides to play for us the following season free registration!

As well as supporting our local schools CDJFC is an active participant in the Good Sports program having achieved Level 3 accreditation, the highest possible level.
